“Until Dawn” – Lacquer Art Exhibition of Eiko Tanaka
Eiko Tanaka is a woodturner and lacquer artist based in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. From the preparation of the materials to the finishing of the lacquer painting, she does everything by herself. The beauty of curves created by her advanced wood-turning technique, and the glossy world-view expressed by black-red lacquer give us a lasting impression like a feeling that the darkness of the night is dawning.
In this exhibition, HULS Gallery Tokyo showcases her lacquer works including sake cups for your evening drink, sake ware for professional-use that can be used in bars and restaurants, and art panels. Please visit the gallery and enjoy the rich expressions of her lacquer works up close.
