Time & Style Largo Treves(Milan Showroom)
Following Milan Design Week in April 2025, Time & Style has launched a new collection in Tokyo and Osaka. The collection features chairs, side tables, shelves, cabinets, partitions, and lighting — all made using Japanese materials and meticulously crafted by artisans in Japan.
New fabrics have also been added to the interior textile collection, co-developed by textile artist Noriko Tsuiki, KOKURA SHIMA SHIMA, and Time & Style. The development of original textiles for furniture began three years ago, driven by the passionate request of Ryutaro Yoshida, president of Prestige Japan Inc., which operates Time & Style. His vision was to incorporate Japanese fabrics into Japanese furniture. This collaborative project explores new possibilities in Japanese dyeing and weaving techniques while preserving the tradition of Kokura-ori. The new fabric, titled “Sazareishi (Pebbles),” is inspired by naturally aged, rounded pebbles shaped over many years in the natural environment. The fabric’s subtle color variations are achieved through the use of pre-dyed yarns in cotton and wool — two distinct natural materials. The difference in shrinkage between these materials creates a three-dimensional texture and a uniquely expressive fabric’s surface.
“Amagumo,” designed by Yumi Terauchi, is a lighting fixture that evokes the image of floating clouds in the sky. The boxes crafted with using the technique of sashimono (joinery) achieved complex structure with strength and refined finishing details. By stacking and intentionally offsetting these boxes, the design conveys the lightness of clouds and a sense of weightlessness. The fixture’s appearance changes depending on the viewing angle, reflecting the irregular and spontaneous beauty found in nature. The soft light diffused through Mino washi paper adds a sense of movement and tranquility, as well as warmth and dignity.
In addition, the collection includes a variety of chairs crafted from Japanese wood using traditional woodworking techniques, designed by creators from both Japan and abroad. Many new styles of the “Museum cabinet,” a signature product symbolizing Time & Style’s vision, are also being introduced. We invite you to visit the showroom and experience its beautiful atmosphere, where the new collection seamlessly combines tradition and innovation, reflecting an essential aesthetic that harmonizes with the modern lifestyle.
