Sghr Sugahara Launches New Products at SGHR NEW DESIGN PREVIEW 2026

Sghr Sugahara, which continues to create tableware designed for everyday use, has released 18 new series this year. This collection features pieces that radiate warmth, each carefully crafted by artisans dedicated to the art of glassmaking.

“Ekubo koppu,” featuring a dimple-like indentation on the side, is designed so that your fingers naturally fit into it when you hold the cup. The section covered with colored glass is heated with a burner, and as soon as the glass softens, the artisan inhales to create the dimple. The three colors — tan, violet, and forest green — are all charming and sure to bring a smile to the user’s face.

“Water –MIZU–,” developed in collaboration with Matsuya Ginza and Sugahara, is based on the concept of “a glass for drinking water.” Every detail, from its size and weight to its ease of handling, was carefully considered to achieve an exceptional user experience. The series features five patterns: plain, bubble, short line, diagonal line, and vertical line. Each design expresses water in a different way, creating its own distinctive sparkle of light and adding to the glass’s unique appeal.

“Joie” glass features a checkered pattern that reflects light and creates a beautiful visual effect. By intentionally designing the stem to be lower and thicker, and the base larger, the glass achieves a premium feel while remaining stable and safe for use by everyone — from adults to children.

“Corin,” studded with mica throughout, is a dazzlingly sparkling plate. By adhering powdered mica to the glass and layering transparent glass over it, the shimmering particles are sealed within the glass. The plate brightens the dining table and helps create a special moment.

Characterized by its roughly hewn base, the “Arezara” is created by chiseling and deeply carving the mold to evoke the texture of carved ice. The interplay between the smooth flat surface and the sculpted base creates a contrast of light and shadow, giving the piece a rich sense of depth.

Resembling a piece cut from a bar of chocolate, the “Hitokake” features a distinctive segmented form. Each piece is created using a pressing technique in which molten glass is poured into a mold and pressure is applied from above. A triangular dimple is placed in the center, allowing for versatile uses such as a tray for pens or accessories, or a dish for sweets.

“Mignon,” meaning “small and lovely” in French, is a flower vase distinguished by its charming, fluttering rim. The natural, airy ruffles are a hallmark of this design, made possible by the free-blowing technique that forgoes the use of molds. When fresh flowers are arranged, the ruffles gentle encircle the blooms, creating a vibrant, bouquet-like appearance.

Alongside the products introduced here, many new creations born from the ideas and craftsmanship of artisans have been unveiled. The special website, Sugahara’s new design preview 2026, offers a variety of content, including the latest event updates, stories behind the new designs, and production videos.
