The Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art is one of the earliest regional prefectural museums to have been established, owning about 4,000 Ishikawa-related arts and crafts – from antiques to modern paintings, sculptures, and crafts. You can find here, the National Treasure “Incense Burner in the Shape of Pheasant Decorated with Overglaze Enamels,” which is in the shape of a pheasant by Ninsei Nonomura and also works in the style of Ko-Kutani, works by a member of the art academy, and the holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure), all of which represent the prefecture. On the second floor, the collections being exhibited in the seven exhibition rooms change depending on the current special feature. However, this excludes the showcase of the National Treasure “Incense Burner in the Shape of Pheasant Decorated with Overglaze Enamels” and Important Cultural Property “Incense Burner in the Shape of Female Pheasant Decorated with Overglaze Enamels” by Ninsei Nonomura, that is permanently on display at the first gallery.
