A ceramic artist living in Aichi Prefecture. Having studied ceramics in Seto, he pursues his original shapes of beauty. Mainly using the mold casting method, he continues making ceramics.
When we place Mr. Ando’s work in our surroundings, it makes us feel like we found a beautiful piece from along a trail. His works seems to be drawn from an uncertain beauty in nature. I want you to contemplate the textures that are hidden in each one slowly.
Born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan
Graduated from Aichi University of the Arts, Faculty of Art, Design and Craft.
Graduated from Aichi Prefectural Seto Pottery Senior High School, Advanced Course.
Selected for the 10th International Ceramics Competition Mino, Japan, Ceramics Division / Ceramics Design Division
Awarded the 43th Chozasho Tokoname Togyoten, “Kurashi no Yakimono ten” Choza Gold prize.
Selected for ITAMI International Craft Exhibition, “Shuki, Shuhaidai”.
Awarded Meshiwan Grand Prix Exhibition, Etsuko Asai Judge’s special award.
Awarded the 2nd Seto Toshiro Triennale, Judge’s special award.
Selected for the 11th International Ceramics Competition Mino, Japan.
